MEET YOUR INSTRUCTOR
Founder & DJ Since1999
Jash Negandhi is the founder and lead instructor of SpinRight Academy, offering private, in-home DJ lessons for kids, teens, and adults throughout Orange County, California. A professional DJ since 1999, Jash performs internationally as Myndset, holds an RIAA 7× Platinum certification for his DJ and scratch work on Bruno Mars' "The Lazy Song," and is a former OC Weekly Spin City DJ Champion. He teaches on industry-standard Pioneer DJ controllers, Serato DJ Pro, and Ableton Live.
A lifelong Southern California resident, Jash Negandhi has spent decades immersed in the music and culture of Los Angeles and Orange County. After earning his degree in Economics from the University of California, Irvine, he continued to live and work throughout the region, experiences that have shaped his approach as both a DJ and educator.
For Jash, music was never just a hobby; it was a calling. Drawn early on to sound, rhythm, and the creative power behind the decks, he didn't wait for a classroom to teach him. He learned the craft hands-on, building real skill through genuine passion and persistence.
That dedication became the foundation of SpinRight Academy. Founded in Orange County, SpinRight is more than a music school; it's a launchpad. Students train on professional gear, develop their own sound, and gain the confidence to perform live.
From teens discovering their creative identity to adults pursuing something entirely new, Jash meets every student where they are and helps them reach further than they thought possible.
SpinRight Academy is more than a place to learn how to DJ. It’s a place where the next generation of performers can develop the technical skills, creative confidence, and professional habits from a time tested DJ veteran of 25+ years.
AWARDS & ACHIEVEMENTS
- Local Legend: OC Weekly Spin City DJ Champion earning the top spot among 50 contestants and the opportunity to perform for 70,000 attendees at Ultra Music Festival in Miami.
- Platinum Pedigree: In October 2020 the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America) awarded Jash with 7× Platinum certification for his role of DJ/scratcher on Bruno Mars’ “The Lazy Song”.
