Jash Negandhi was born in 1983 in West Covina, California, to immigrant parents from India who came to the U.S. in pursuit of the American dream. Their hard work and sacrifices opened up opportunities that would have otherwise been unavailable for Jash’s life.

As a kid full of energy and passion, Jash loved playing basketball, football, and tennis. But entering high school, the focus shifted — sports became more competitive, driven by a win-at-all-costs mentality rather than fun and inclusivity. Jash’s thin frame wasn’t built for football, and his shorter stature put him at a disadvantage on the basketball court, ultimately costing him a spot on the team.

What felt like a setback at the time became a defining turning point. It was then that Jash discovered DJing — an art form where physical size and stature didn’t matter. In DJing, everyone starts from scratch, and success comes from creativity, dedication, and passion. That discovery set him on a path that would shape his career and his life.

Local Legend: OC Weekly Spin City DJ Champion earning the top spot among 40 contestants and the opportunity to perform for 70,000 attendees at Ultra Music Festival in Miami.

Platinum Pedigree: In October 2020 the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America) awarded Jash with 7× Platinum certification for his role of DJ/scratcher on Bruno Mars’ “The Lazy Song”. This signifies that the song has sold 7 million units in the United States **and currently has over 3 billion views on YouTube.

Worldwide Acclaim: After establishing his reputation in LA and OC, Jash recognized that his hip-hop DJ career had reached a plateau. He boldly reinvented himself under the moniker Myndset, dedicating countless hours to crafting electronic music productions.
